The effort-time-result ratio!

Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did.
Newt Gingrich

Again I was reflecting on the treadmill metaphor.

The purpose of any workout is to burn excessive flesh. For this you have to exercise sufficient enough to ensure that you burn adequate calories every time you exercise.

Supposing you decide to burn 300 calories, you have the option to decide the time frame within which you want to accomplish this. You can walk at 1 mile per hour, choose not to increase the inclination and work out. Perhaps you will take forty minutes. But if you want to do it in less than twenty minutes, you have to increase the speed to say, five miles per hour and increase the inclination to, may be, ten percent!

This principle applies to our life also.

Decide and quantify what you want to achieve. If you want to achieve it fast, you have to stretch yourself and work hard! You should know the equation between the result, the amount of hard work and the time frame.

You cannot have a situation where you want to work very less and earn a lot of money very fast. Your intention may be justified, but not possible!

Over this weekend check how this equation is working in your life with reference to your goal!
