Do not assume peoples’ intentions, it will affect relationships!

‘Assumptions are termites of relationships’
Henry Winkler

We move with people. We see people behaving in a particular way. What is visible is their external behaviour. What is not visible is their intention. They only know why and how they act that way.

For example, you wish someone, but he does not wish you back. Not wishing you back is just an external behaviour. May be he did not notice you, may be he was absorbed in some thoughts or he was preoccupied. But, if you interpret his behaviour as a result of lack of respect for you or he wanted to insult you or he does not need your goodwill etc, then you may land in a serious relationship problem!

In order to build healthy relationship with people, you should correctly understand people’s intentions instead of guessing.

Over this weekend, do an honest audit of whom all you have mistaken for what they have done or not done and what assumptions you have made for their behaviour. Check if you are correct. Or, have a frank discussion with that person to clarify your mind.

If this is not done, you will land yourself in a serious relationship problem with your near and dear ones!
